In my research in the field of diets and diabetes mellitus type 2, clinical studies provided evidence of good effects of low-carb diets. In particular, improved blood sugar control, reduced insulin doses, improved inflammation parameters and also certain aspects of increased well- being were observed in the participants. Based on my experiences and available science, there are good reasons to recommend low-carb diets to patients with type 2 diabetes.
